Hi, my name is David Crawford and I’m the owner of Crawford’s ATA Black Belt Academy. When I began my martial arts journey the positive impact it had on my life was remarkable. It was always my dream to someday own my own school in Kittanning and create an enjoyable environment for students to improve their fitness while building confidence they can carry into their everyday lives.
I remember when I was 20 years old and feeling uncertainty about beginning martial arts. I wondered if I had what it took to succeed and I wasn’t the most athletic or confident person – quite the opposite. Little did I know that beginning my martial arts journey would be one of the most profound experiences of my life!
When I took over this school in 1988, I made a commitment to serving and empowering the community of Kittanning by teaching children and adults the confidence, leadership and fitness skills that can only be achieved through martial arts. We proudly operate the oldest continuously opened ATA school in Pennsylvania and have been open since 1974.
